Sculptor and teacher at Durham College, Geordie Lishman takes metal - from other jobs he's done or at the scrap yard - and creates unique pieces. With a focus on a person's connection to nature and conservation of the environment, "We don't want to live in a world that's not beautiful," says the artist. "You can't live in a world that's not sustainable, it just won't last."

Geordie's piece at this year's OSI may not be metal but it adhere to the same philosophy of working with recycled material.
